Rebel Diet - New Book to Free You From Diet Hell!

New Rebel Diet book – the diet that forces you to cheat!

After quite a wait, the book is finally released. Rebel Diet, the anti diet industry guide to freedom from diet hell with the practical guide to weight, life and the relationship between our mental state and the effect on dieting, metabolism and weight loss and how to change it is on the shelves in the UK.

Rebel Diet , the new book by Emma James MABNLP, MATLTA, MABH, Dip FTST is out on sale in the UK and worldwide on the 8th July.

The book is a revolutionary fight against the diet industry and a direct insight into weight management through mental state change, lifestyle, diet structure and most of all not having to diet all the time! It is freedom from diet hell.
It also explains the fads, myths and hype used by so many unscrupulous companies cashing into the whole diet industry.

The author, Emma James, controversial therapist, NLP and Hypnosis Trainer and Master Practitioner is also a long time competitive athlete in powerlifting. She holds World, European and British titles as well as world records in power lifting and has personally fought with her weight and coached many clients privately and in sport to help them achieve success in their field and their look.

The "rebelling" is purely the fact that you don't have to diet 7 days a week – you can incorporate the diet into your lifestyle and time when and if you need to. You also have your Rebel Diet day, which is a major cheat day and also has a few other stipulations with it like, have fun, do something for you, do something you have never done before, but of most all……..REBEL!

What is simple is dieting – what is not simple is dealing with the rest of life, mental motivation, self confidence and image problems which also help or hinder your efforts in being the person you want to be. If you don't feel like changing and don't have the motivation to do it for "you" then no diet or pill on earth will work.

Welcome to the world of dealing with the whole person as well as an effective and revolutionary new diet system and attitude.

Mirage Publishing owned by the world renowned Steve Richards and author of Cosmic Ordering have the nudge for Emma to write her book and system so the general public can have access to the system she has been using with clients and herself for years.

Emma has come through many challenges and worked through her own traumas as well as with clients and she provides insight into the techniques and methods used along with the times when they have saved her.

For anyone wanting a fresh new way to rebel against the whole diet industry and take their weight management into their own hands this will be a liberating system.

Can you Don a Bikini and Hit the Beach Using the South Beach Diet?

Diet books and fad diets are nothing new. It seems every few months there's a new weight loss program being touted by the so-called experts as the "new miracle diet". We, as consumers, are bombarded by before and after pictures and testimonials from people who have successfully lost weight with some fabulous new program.

Two years ago, another new diet book hit the shelves. It was called "The South Beach Diet", written by Dr. Arthur Agatston. Since its release in 2003, The South Beach Diet has been listed on the New York Times' bestseller list for an impressive 103 weeks. Dr. Agatston has released companion books, started a fee-based website, and is working with Kraft Foods to create a line of pre-packaged South Beach menu items. How is this diet any different from the others, and more importantly, does it work?

The main idea behind South Beach is to eat three meals a day along with snacks and even dessert, while avoiding highly processed foods. Dr. Agatston says that South Beach is not low carb or low fat, but rather good carb and good fat. The diet is broken down into three phases: phase one is very restrictive and lasts about two weeks, phase two is much more open with food choices and lasts until you reach your goal weight, and phase three is called 'maintenance', which should guide your food choices for the rest of your life.

During phase one, you can eat until you are full (not stuffed full, just no longer hungry) from a list of approved foods. The list consists of mainly vegetables and lean meat, including seafood, as well as low fat or fat-free dairy products and legumes. You can have sugar-free Jell-o or popsicles as treats; up to 75 calories worth per day. Nuts and natural peanut butter are also on the list, but with limits. You're basically giving up bread, rice, pasta, potatoes, and sugar in all of its forms. The South Beach Diet book claims that you can lose 8-13 pounds in just two weeks on phase one, and that you will lose belly fat first.

Phase two widens your menu quite a bit. You can now eat whole grain bread and pasta, brown rice, select fruits, and (my personal favourite) sugar-free Jell-o pudding. Still no sugar though, except for the occasional bite of dark chocolate. Good carbs in the form of whole grains and legumes, and good fats in the form of unsaturated, non-hydrogenated things like I Can't Believe it's Not Butter spray and olive oil are all approved.

Once you've reached your goal weight, you're pretty much on your own. Phase three lets you eat within the phase two guidelines, adding occasional treats and 'white' food, but omitting the snacks you've come to depend on. There isn't much guidance here, since by now you should know what your body is able to handle. Dr. Agatston recommends that you return to phase two if you find yourself gaining weight again.

Sounds simple enough, doesn't it? The book even claims that you don't need to exercise to lose weight with this plan (although it does recommend that you add physical activity as part of your weight loss effort). While the eating plan is certainly healthy, there are some drawbacks to this diet - or at least with the way it is presented.

Phase one is very restrictive. Sure, you're only on it for two weeks, and the potential weight loss is very encouraging. Many people, however, do not lose the 'guaranteed' 8-13 pounds in phase one and get discouraged. Not only that, but suddenly dropping all sugar and refined carbs from your diet can cause dizziness, light-headedness, an inability to focus or concentrate, and constipation (believe it or not). This rapid weight loss phase is designed to control your cravings, but sometimes the side effects just aren't worth it. If you think you can manage your cravings, head straight for phase two.

South Beach also recommends that you use sugar substitutes, specifically Splenda. Some people have trouble digesting aspartame, while others prefer to avoid one unhealthy substance and substitute it with a chemically processed alternative. Explore your options in this case - there are other ways to sweeten foods without sugar or chemicals.

While you're on phase two, your weight loss should slow down to one or two pounds a week, according to the book. This is reasonable, and slow weight loss is definitely healthier than dropping pounds rapidly. It is a balanced diet and has great effects on your health, with the added benefit of losing unwanted pounds. What is confusing as far as the book is concerned though is that there are ingredients in the recipes that aren't found on the recommended "Foods to Enjoy" list. Also, Dr. Agatston asks that you add grains and fruit back to your diet slowly; only one serving a day to start, and gradually increase your servings until you find your weight loss slowing down. If you follow the daily menu plans in the book though, there are several fruit and grain servings for each day.

For anyone who needs a structured plan based on numbers, The South Beach Diet is not the way to go. But if you like the freedom of not having to count anything and using common sense to lose weight, then South Beach is more of a strategic eating plan than a rigid diet and would work very well for you. Keep in mind that all diets revolve around the same principal: take in fewer calories than you burn off. Burn more calories than you consume, and the weight will come off. Eating well and enjoying healthy food is integral to this process, and that's where The South Beach Diet shines.

New $100 Diet Naughty Pin-Up Girl E-Book that will change your life- Champagne and desserts okay in moderation says Author

At last, a new e-book that shares the real secrets of pin up girls, "The $100 Diet; How Naughty Pin-Up Girls Stay Thin." has entered the marketplace. Ms. Car Johnson grew up in Los Angeles, California — the land of the size 0, where girls are known for being small and petite, but often fall victim to the celebrity=2 0diet fads that constantly plague Hollywood. "I was okay, but had to worry about how I would look on film. I don't have a naturally rail-like figure and had to work at what I did to begin with" she says. Ms Car Johnson attempted all sorts of diets such as Macrobiotic and high protein diet but melded a combination of several lifestyles to get the figure she was most proud of. She exposes the truth about how extreme diets just don't work "You can't do anything seven days a week without cracking. I finally figured out how to balance it out so that the 'binge and purge' end of a yo-yo diet doesn't exist." she adds.
Why the pin-up girl bit? Being in music, the author has had to pose for many a picture and has always admired the pin-up model from yesteryear. Her inspiration include pin up girls such as Betty Grable, Sophia Loren Racquel Welch Brigitte Bardot and Marilyn Monroe . Ms Car says'They didn't have fancy machines, specialty chefs and pre-prepared meals. They did not have personal trainers. They did it themselves, not having to rely on anyone or anything else."

So I sought help from friends and family. I found a doctor who told me to change my diet by following a good acid alkaline chart. He said that he was a firm believer that my food intake was the culprit in all my sufferings.

So I started to get into an alkaline diet and to my surprise I began feeling a little bit better in just a few days. I don't even have to rest as much when I started the diet. Alkaline Foods List Energized My Life - Top Tips On Alkaline Diet

Thanks to an alkaline foods list I can still live an energetic and fulfilling life at 32 years of age. Before I got hold of an alkaline foods list, I thought that I was going to spiral out of control into old age. I was informed later that these are just symptoms of premature aging.

Since 25 years old is the age of decline in human beings, I thought that my symptoms were just natural to my age. You know, the symptoms like lack of energy, feeling always sick and tired, headaches, aches and pains in the muscles and joints, and a general feeling of stuffiness in the morning.

I tried and seek medical help. The doctor gave me medication that worked only for the short term. He ordered me to go on an exercise and a balance diet. I did both. but I can't seem to stick to an exercise habit daily. As were all my diets. They were just yo-yo diets that I can't seem to stick to no matter how hard I tried.

I researched on the web and I found a good system about alkaline diet and the alkaline foods list. The alkaline foods list is an enumeration of energy giving and healing food that we can take in. I also took notes of the dead foods that I am eating, just so I can strike it out of my diet forever.

The alkaline diet must be the easiest diet I have had the pleasure of doing. I did not need to go all vegetarian, I just have to follow the alkaline diet list for the available food that I can eat. I never have to give up drinking alcohol either. I still drink in moderation up to now, but I intend to quit it altogether.

I also tried to include a little exercise routine in my daily life. I am a boxing fanatic, so I tried to incorporate shadow boxing in my exercise. I found this very entertaining and invigorating at the same time. You too should have an exercise routine that you can enjoy. This way you will have fun and stick with your routine. You can also try and use an mp3 player while exercising. This will help keep your occupied and entertained.

Eating fruits and vegetables is also great to get vitamins and minerals the natural way. Not only will fruits and vegetables get you the energy you need, they are also able to cleanse your body of toxins.

If you want to alkalize your water, just add some lemon or lime in your water. The lemon and lime will alkalize your water and will help you alkalize your body as well. This alone can help you keep the balance of the pH of your body. In just one week you will feel the difference.

So if you want to be energized again like you were 21, try out an alkaline foods list. The alkaline foods list will help you keep track of your daily food intake. If you want to know more about this wonderful system, just visit http://acidalkalinediet.org/acid-alkaline-diet-book/

Alkaline Diet For Health And A Great Fulfilling Life

If it were not for this great alkaline diet my health would still be in shambles like a house without a caretaker. I found out that the inside of our bodies also need housekeeping to maintain the balance and health of our system. Alkaline diet promotes health that will last more than other methods or yo-yo diets that will just leave you frustrated and bouncing off of walls.

When I turned 25 years old I felt as if I was still 18. I did not know that 25 is the start of decline for the human body. I became lazy. I stopped exercising and watching what I eat. I thought that I would feel 18 no matter what I do. I felt that I was built to feel young and look young way after 30 years of age. I was wrong.

Because of my precocious lifestyle, I began feeling the symptoms of premature aging when I turned 30. I thought that all I needed to do was to give up smoking and drinking. It did help improve my health a little bit, but I was still feeling symptoms from illnesses that I never dreamed I will have.

I felt aches and pains in my joints and muscles. It was such a pain that I consulted a doctor for fear that I may have arthritis or rheumatism at an early age. The doctor told me that I did not have any arthritis or rheumatism. The good doctor told me that I was merely experiencing the symptoms of stress and tension. He told me that I should change my lifestyle by incorporating a daily exercise routine in my life, as well as eating a balanced diet.

I told him that I already tried a lot of diets, so I asked him what diet system can I implement to help me in my health. The doctor told me to try a good alkaline diet for my health issues. He referred me to a search engine on the web to help me find a good alkaline diet system. My health issues were already beginning to hurt me, my performance, and my family life. I really felt unfulfilled. That is why I tried out an alkaline diet to help improve my health.

After trying out alkaline diet, my health started to return to normal. Normal, as in, I felt 5 years younger. I felt so energized that my wife was surprised at my enthusiasm at home. My office mates were amazed at my performance and my promotion to upper-middle management. I never felt this fulfilled in years. All thanks to this alkaline diet, my health has been renewed with vigor and a new youthful energy. The Secrets to a Calorie Shifting Diet

The calorie shifting diet plan is revealed in the most popular diet on ClickBank - Fat Loss 4 Idiots. This diet book has sold more than any other diet book on Clickbank, and it is the most popular product there.  This just shows you how effective it is, and how many lives it has changed.  This diet has helped so many people by tricking your body into turning into a fat burning machine. It works for anyone from slightly to overly obese people.

The amount of calories your body burns off is the same as the amount of calories you take in. This is a proven fact, and it is why when you first start a low calorie diet, you lose weight.  The reason you lose weight on a low calorie diet is because your body is not getting all the calories it is used to, but it is still burning off all those extra calories. But this is also the reason why you plateau. If you are on a 1200 calorie a day diet, your body will eventually start burning only 1200 calories a day, so you will stop losing weight and hit a plateau.  Depending on your current weight, the time it takes to plateau will very, but eventually everyone will plateau.

A Calorie Shifting Diet will give your body different calories at different times of the day, which confuses your body into burning more fat and calories. By eating the right food at the right time of day, you can trick your body and turn it into a fat burning machine. Also, by eating more than 3 times a day, your keep your metabolism going, which also burns more fat and calories.  The combination of eating more often, and eating the right food at the right time of day, you can maximize the effectiveness of which your body burns calories and fat.  If you eat the right foods at the right time of day, like eating carbs early in the day and not late in the day, your can train your body to burn more calories.

The best part of the calorie shifting diet is that it will help anyone lose weight. If you are extremely overweight or just slightly overweight, the way this diet shocks your body into burning calories has been proven to burn fat and calories. You will see results in as little as eleven days, and you can lose up to 9 pounds in eleven days when you shift your calories.

Listen Up: Listen Your Way To a Better Diet

The battle against the bulge isnt an easy one. Most people these days are trying to eat healthier but its tough to keep up with the onslaught of diet-related information and to stay motivated to choose nutritious foods. So heres a tip. Listen your way to a better diet.

There are some excellent audio books available on the subject of nutrition. Try popping one of these into your car stereo or listening to them while youre in the kitchen making dinner. Its a great way to learn more about the impact of food on your body. It can also help you to discover new foods and recipes that you might not have been familiar with. And its a great way to stay accountable to a healthier diet. Just try preparing a greasy hamburger while listening to an audio book discussing the health risks of saturated fats!

A great audio book to start with is The South Beach Diet by Arthur Agatson. The South Beach Diet isnt as extreme as some other diets so its a great way to transition into a healthier way of eating. Youll still be able to eat a lot of the foods you enjoy but if youre like many others youll find that the foods that you limit (e.g., refined carbs) will help you to shed pounds quickly.

Another great source of information is the audio books from Dr. Andrew Weil. Weil has written dozens of books on health and many of them are available on audio. I find his dietary recommendations very sensible and enjoy that he views food a source of pleasure (something many diet book writers surprisingly fail to consider). A few recommended Weil titles on audio are Eating Well for Optimum Health, The Healthy Kitchen (with Rosie Daley) and Taking Care of Yourself.

If youre ready to step it up to a notch, you might want to give a listen to Tony Robbins Living Health course. While Tonys dietary recommendations arent the easiest to follow, the alkalinity theory of nutrition that he espouses might well be a breakthrough in the nutrition world. And you certainly cant argue with Tonys energy. The guy is a live wire!

A few other audio books that you might to pick up include Diet for a New America by John Robbins (no relation to Tony), Eat to Beat Cancer by J. Robert Hatherill and Ultraprevention by Mark Hyman and Mark Liponis (the co-directors of medicine at the Canyon Ranch spa). There are also some interesting nutrition-related podcasts out there such as Tracy Jorgs Vegan Cooking School podcast. And dont forget about about Eric Schlossers best-selling audio book Fast Food Nation. If youre looking for some reasons to never eat fast food again youll find them there.

Immerse yourself in a few of these titles and see how your diet changes. Once you discover an enjoyable way to eat better dont be surprised if you never go back to your old ways.

The Atkins Diet by Diet Debate

The Atkins Diet, introduced by Dr. Robert Atkins in the 1970's has spurred a legion of low-carb dieters in the United States. For two decades, millions of Americans have restricted their intake of carbohydrates following the teachings of Dr. Atkins. The diet, which was reintroduced in the book Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution, focuses on the restriction of carbohydrates to 20 grams in an individual's diet at the start of the program and then tailoring his diet to accommodate up to 40-50 grams of carbohydrates during the 'maintenance' phase.

During the first phase or the induction phase, dieters are not allowed to have more than 20 grams of carbohydrates and they also can not have any alcoholic or caffeinated drinks. They must also refrain from consuming starchy foods, bread or even fruits. There are no imposed restrictions on meats and other sources of protein and yet weight-loss is fastest during this period. Later on, more carbohydrates will be allowed in the diet but dieters will be asked to watch their intake of refined grains and sugar. By the time a dieter reaches the Maintenance phase, he would already have been used to making smart food choices and would already know the amount of carbohydrates he can consume that will keep him in top shape.

Proponents of the Atkins Diet claim that the program teaches your body to burn calories more efficiently and as a result is said to lessen fatigue, depression, and muscle pains.

Never to Late to Start a Diet !!!

Many people make their New Year's resolution to lose weight. While they start out with good intentions, far too often the weekly drudge of sticking to a diet can wear thin quite quickly and before they know it their good diet intentions have fallen away. Fortunately, there are a few things you can do to stick to your diet resolution without giving up before the excess weight goes away.

One of the most important things you can do to ensure that you stick with your weight loss goals is to write a contract with yourself, promising to stick with the resolution that you have made. If you want to lose a specific amount of weight within a certain amount of time, be sure to include this in the contract along with what you specifically plan to do to lose the weight. Post the contract somewhere you'll be sure to see it everyday.

Setting goals is an excellent way to make sure that you stay on track with your weight loss plans; however, it is important to ensure that your goals are manageable and not too broad in scope. Due to the fact that dieting can become tiresome very quickly, you may find it helpful to energize your diet with a new goal each week. This gives you something to work on, and even look forward to, each week. Examples of small goals you can set for yourself include starting an exercise routine, cutting out sodas, drinking more water, etc.

Small goals are also a great incentive to work your way up to larger goals, an important component of sticking to your diet plans. Rather than saying you plan to lose weight this year, instead make it a point to commit to losing a specific amount of weight within a definite time frame. This helps to ensure that you do not put off your weight loss plans indefinitely.

As with any major change in your life, it's generally always easier to accomplish your goals when you have the help and support of friends and family. Make a point to inform those close to you that you are dieting and what you hope to accomplish. In addition, it's always a good idea to let them know exactly what you're doing to lose weight so they do not unintentionally sabotage your diet plans. The presence of a weight loss buddy who can keep you on track and motivated will significantly decrease the chances that you'll give up before accomplishing your goals.

Most people function well under a rewards system and losing weight is no different, provided that you ensure your rewards support your diet and do not undermine them. While you may look forward to enjoying an ice cream sundae after reaching a weight loss goal, think of other rewards that you would enjoy and keep your diet intact. Consider rewarding yourself for every milestone you reach, such as every five pounds lost. Positive reward examples include a manicure, massage, new book/CD/DVD, new shirt, etc. Significant weight loss goals, such as 25 pounds or 50 pounds, could warrant a larger reward such as a weekend trip or something else meaningful.

Raw Foods Detox Diet. Book Review

I like to call the Raw Foods Detox Diet the simplest revolution to transform the diet world of our generation.  No point, calorie, or carb counting.  No club membership fee, no pills to buy, no crazy eating-then-stopping, or anything else to distract you from <i>healthy</i> weight loss.  We're just getting back to basics here, folks.

Natalia Rose has been a certified clinical nutritionist in New York City for years.  She has and still does work with models, actors, and media personalities to help them stay fit for the camera.  During that time, she has made amazing discoveries and breakthroughs to help everyone get healthy, lose weight and keep it off, find beautiful skin again, and gain more energy.  In her book, "The Raw Food Detox Diet", she gives the public insight on what she has been telling models and actors for years.  The book takes you through all the ins and outs of the Raw Food Diet, as well as how to safely transition into it.  She answers many questions that people have been asking her, and makes it as easy as humanly possible for someone to change their life and their health.

I started the Raw Foods Diet in January, but still bought this book as I felt I needed some help and pointers because my food choices seemed to be getting too repetitive.  Her five step plan certainly revitalized my dieting practice, and I can see how it can help anyone from those just beginning to those who've already started but get lost along the way.

The great thing is you have the comfort of knowing that you are reading information by someone who knows her stuff, yet it is written in such a way that you don't have to be a scientist to understand it.  I like things put to me in clear, simple terms I can remember without a dictionary, and I believe the book accomplishes that very well.

Simply put, I have and will continue to recommend this diet to everyone I know.  Now that I've read this book, I will recommend it as the best place to start and keep up the motivation!  Since this is a review, I'll say I would give it four stars out of five.

Tips On Selecting The Best Dr Atkins Diet Book For The Atkins Diet

The Atkins diet has become one of the best known diets in America. The man who invented the diet, Robert Atkins, has written a variety of books that can help support you in your dieting endeavors. If you are looking to have more substantial Atkins diet information on hand, there are three detailed and informative books written by Dr. Atkins that are beneficial.

Because the Atkins diet has four stages, having guidance from one stage to the next makes the diet more effective. Known primarily as a low carbohydrate diet, the first phase, induction is the most strict, where you limit your carbs to 20 grams per day. Phase 2, Ongoing Weight Loss, allows you to slowly reintroduce some carbs back into your diet. Phase 3, Pre-Maintenance, has you continuing to add more carbs; and phase 4 is lifetime maintenance, where you can enjoy a wider variety of foods, but still keep the essential Atkins concepts.

The most comprehensive book, and the one that kicked off the popularity of low carb eating, is "Dr. Atkins' New Diet Revolution, Revised Edition." This book goes into detail about each phase, and includes research and information supporting Dr. Atkins reasoning for how his diet produces weight loss. This book stresses that hunger is not a necessary part of your diet, and includes a variety of recipes and menus to start the plan with. For a solid reference you can return to again and again, this book will provide you with plenty of material.

If you are looking for a way to jump right into weight loss, "The Atkins Essentials: A Two-Week Program to Jump-start Your Low Carb Lifestyle," makes approaching and starting the product even easier. The book focuses on the first two weeks of the program, and includes a detailed 2 week menu. If you've had problems losing weight in the past, the book also suggests personal modifications for weight loss. If you are looking for something that is easy to jump right into, "The Atkins Essentials" book can get you started.

The Atkins diet is a life-long program, and if you want something that will help you maintain this diet, "Atkins for Life: The Complete Controlled Carb Program for Permanent Weight Loss and Good Health," focuses on following the eating plan throughout life. The first part of this book has many first-person success stories and testimonials for inspiration. The book also includes detailed questionnaires that can help you understand food choices allowed or not allowed on the diet. There are also a large number of recipes and menu plans. If you are familiar with the Atkins diet already, this book can assist you in continuing your eating habits.

While there are many other books available regarding the Atkins diet and low carb eating, Dr. Atkins himself has written a variety of books that included detailed information for starting and maintaining this diet. If you are interested in trying the Atkins diet, or need more motivation, recipes, or menu planning, you may want to consider one of Dr. Atkins's books.

Weight Loss Basics -- Diet Books

(Sixth in a Series)

Major U.S. Industry

Weight loss publishing is a $1.3 billion a year U.S. industry. This should tell you that you would not have the tiniest of troubles finding books on the subject.

Bookstores have giant sections for diet and weight loss; magazine and newspaper ads sell them mercilessly; there are probably thousands of websites devoted to the subject, each promoting some book or system or other. Attend a book fair, toss a tennis ball in any direction, and chances are it will hit a new diet book book representative, and bounce onto another.

The words "densely populated" come to mind. And the problem, of course, is how to choose the book that is right for you.

The Shortest Book

The shortest (and truest) diet book would read (in its entirety):

Burn more calories than you consume. The End.

An expanded edition may carry this appendix:

The First Law of Thermodynamics

The increase in the internal energy of a system is equal to the amount of energy added by heating the system, minus the amount lost as a result of the work done by the system on its surroundings.

Which in plain language says that you provide heat (calories) to your system (body) through food, you lose energy (calories) by work done. If you add more heat to the system than you lose as a result of work, you increase the internal "energy" which the body stores for future use, usually as fat. If your body uses more energy than it consume, you will burn these stores, and lose weight.

But even this expanded version would be too short; people would not want to pay $25 a copy.

Fad Books

Knowing that the only law at work in weight loss is the First Law of Thermodynamics, and knowing that you can't sell that over and over, and certainly not for $25 each time, there's an army of devoted "diet specialists" of varying degrees of authenticity out there working very hard devising new angles and renditions of the same subject.

Hence the string of fads diets that seem to mushroom whenever you turn around: "Cabbage Soup Diet," "The Lazy Zone Diet," "The South Beach Diet," "The Chocolate Diet," "Atkins Diet," "Scarsdale Diet Plan," "Amputation Diet," "The 3 Day Diet," "7 Day All You Can Eat Diet," "Lemonade Diet," "The Hollywood Diet," "Russian Air Force Diet," "Grape Fruit Diet," and on and on and on ad infinitum.

I think that many of these fads are taken to heart by people who need new topics of conversation more than anything else. And it also strikes me that people as a rule seem to dislike simple, and seem to like—if not demand—complicated. Fad books meet that demand by tending to make the simple subject of weight loss complicated.

Intention

So, in this sea of books and systems, how do you tell the good (really wanting to help) book from the bad (just out to make a quick million bucks)? Ultimately, no one but you can answer that question, but whatever answer you arrive at, you should base it on the author's intention.

With your BS antennae fully extended and finely tuned, read the sleeves and introduction of the book to get a sense of where the writer is coming from. Does smugness and self-importance seem to be a big thing with this person, or is he or she just too darn slick or smooth for comfort?

Be aware that some variations on the First Law of Thermodynamics are definitely more equal than others.

Variations that tell you how easy and painless it is to shed a hundred or so pounds are not being honest. Put the book back. Variations that offers money back guarantees every second or so paragraph are probably selling snake oil. Variations that tell you that you don't actually have to cut your calories, it's all in your head, or that you don't have to exercise, it's still all in your head, should have to write the First Law of Thermodynamics a hundred thousand times on the blackboard. Put the book back.

Honesty

Books that point out the first (and only) principle of weight loss: Burn more calories than you consume, are starting out right. And if they go on to tell you that this is not going to be easy, and that you will have to really commit to this and probably work your butt off to get somewhere, now you are dealing with someone honest. Give this book due consideration.

And if you get the sense that this writer truly has your best interests at heart (without causing as much as a ripple in your BS antennae); give him or her due consideration.

Pudding Proof

Of course, the proverbial proof is in the pudding. If the book or system you have chosen leads toward your goal, week after week, month after month, and you feel better and better, lither and lither, happier and happier: well done, you have made a good choice.

The multiTRIM Diet

All diet plans—except for the outright fraudulent ones, and be warned: they abound—have only one goal: for you to burn more calories than you consume.

Possibly the most sensible plan we have seen in recent years is the multiTRIM diet which supplies all needed nutrients to maintain health while easing hunger in a fifteen calories meal-replacement drink.

A multiTRIM Journal

A friend recently set out to shed 143 pounds over 18 months with the help of the multiTRIM diet. The blog-record of her journey can be found here.

South Beach Diet Book

Diet books and fad diets are nothing new. It seems every few months there´s a new weight loss program being touted by the so-called experts as the new miracle diet. We, as consumers, are bombarded by before and after pictures and testimonials from people who have successfully lost weight with some fabulous new program.

Two years ago, another new diet book hit the shelves. It was called The South Beach Diet, written by Dr. Arthur Agatston. Since its release in 2003, The South Beach Diet has been listed on the New York Times´ bestseller list for an impressive 103 weeks.

The diet is broken down into three phases: phase one is very restrictive and lasts about two weeks, phase two is much more open with food choices and lasts until you reach your goal weight, and phase three is called ´maintenance´, which should guide your food choices for the rest of your life.

You´re basically giving up bread, rice, pasta, potatoes, and sugar in all of its forms.

Good carbs in the form of whole grains and legumes, and good fats in the form of unsaturated, non-hydrogenated things like I Can´t Believe it´s Not Butter spray and olive oil are all approved.

Once you´ve reached your goal weight, you´re pretty much on your own. Phase three lets you eat within the phase two guidelines, adding occasional treats and ´white´ food, but omitting the snacks you´ve come to depend on. There isn´t much guidance here, since by now you should know what your body is able to handle. Dr. Agatston recommends that you return to phase two if you find yourself gaining weight again.

Sounds simple enough, doesn´t it? The book even claims that you don´t need to exercise to lose weight with this plan (although it does recommend that you add physical activity as part of your weight loss effort) . While the eating plan is certainly healthy, there are some drawbacks to this diet - or at least with the way it is presented.

Phase one is very restrictive. Sure, you´re only on it for two weeks, and the potential weight loss is very encouraging. Many people, however, do not lose the ´guaranteed´ 8-13 pounds in phase one and get discouraged. Not only that, but suddenly dropping all sugar and refined carbs from your diet can cause dizziness, light-headedness, an inability to focus or concentrate, and constipation (believe it or not) . This rapid weight loss phase is designed to control your cravings, but sometimes the side effects just aren´t worth it. If you think you can manage your cravings, head straight for phase two.

South Beach also recommends that you use sugar substitutes, specifically Splenda. Some people have trouble digesting aspartame, while others prefer to avoid one unhealthy substance and substitute it with a chemically processed alternative. Explore your options in this case – there are other ways to sweeten foods without sugar or chemicals.

While you´re on phase two, your weight loss should slow down to one or two pounds a week, according to the book. This is reasonable, and slow weight loss is definitely healthier than dropping pounds rapidly. It is a balanced diet and has great effects on your health, with the added benefit of losing unwanted pounds. What is confusing as far as the book is concerned though is that there are ingredients in the recipes that aren´t found on the recommended Foods to Enjoy list.

Eating well and enjoying healthy food is integral to this process, and that´s where The South Beach Diet shines.

Alkaline Diet Book Can Reverse Premature Aging

An alkaline diet book is a list of healthy alkaline foods that you must eat. You can get good advice from an alkaline diet book depending on how good the book is. What are alkaline foods and how can it help you? There is a balance in the body that can be upset when acidity in our body takes over. Unfortunately, Western diet is already generally very acidic. This is where alkaline food can help you. Alkaline food balances our inner terrain. It prevents the acidity of our body from taking over.

Here are ways to determine if you are acidic.

1. If you are feeling sick and tired all the time. Feeling sick and tired all the time is a good sign that you are acidic. Since acidity in the body will deposit toxins in your body. Since you have toxins in your body, you will feel ill and fatigued even if you rest. In fact, rest will do nothing to help you. Alkaline foods are the only thing that can balance your inner structure and get rid of this symptom.

2. Premature aging is another sign that you are acidic. Because of the toxins that acidic foods leave in your body. Cell deterioration is facilitated significantly. This leads to aging even if you are just 25. Since 25 years of age is the decline stage of the human body. You will feel and even accelerated aging if you are acidic.

3. Aches and pains in your joints and muscles. The toxins we get from acidic foods also deposit themselves in our muscles, joints and organs. This might seem benign, but it is very dangerous. The toxins deposited in our joints and muscles will create pains that can't be removed with pain killers. Now, toxins deposited in our organs enable free radicals to go haywire in our body. This can actually causes cancer.

Here is the deal. The natural and most effective way you can reverse these symptoms is to eat alkaline foods. Alkaline food will balance your body's inner terrain quick and easy. With a balanced eco system, you will feel healthier and bursting with untapped energy you never thought you had.

Imagine feeling well and young again. You will. With a great alkaline diet book, you will be able to keep track of your exercise routine and diet. Diet Books Online - How to Avoid Being Scammed

Everyone can agree that the world is full of information on weight loss. There are plenty of weight loss books in the bookstores, pamphlets in the check out lanes of the grocery stores and there are even late night infomercials devoted to weight loss. Obviously, the internet is also chock full of information on losing weight. There is plenty of noise being made about weight loss and while there is plenty of good information available, there is also a lot of bad information and choosing the right diet books online can be difficult at times.

One of the reasons it is so hard to figure out the real cause of our obesity is that the subject has been covered in depth by plenty of different authors each covering it in their own unique way. There are plenty of people selling diet tips and information about weight loss who are only interested in making a sale and not in actually helping you to lose weight. Other authors are building upon misinformation that they learned from other sources that weren't entirely reliable. The sad thing is that we are inherently trusting when it comes to weight loss information. Here are a few hints to help you figure out who is the real deal when it comes to finding a good weight loss book on the internet.

The first thing you should look for is a book that will help you lose weight without trying to convince you to purchase a specific product. A lot of the weight loss products being peddled by these books are filled with chemicals that are, according to the advertisements, meant to reduce the fat and calorie counts in the food you are eating. The truth is that these products are filled with chemicals that actually contribute to a person's obesity. A lot of these products are produced by companies that know exactly what their chemicals do but they want to get us hooked on the product for a long time - possibly forever! By doing this, they guarantee their income stream.

Another thing you should look for when buying a diet book online is information that is easy to understand and does not delve into a bunch of superfluous information that has been released by all of the other diet companies as well. Look for book reviews by people who have actually used the book's information to help them lose weight. Look beyond a book's marketing materials when you are trying to decide if a diet book is right for you.
